One Row Easy Lacy Scarf
This is the scarf pattern I put in the Lakeside Knitters Guild January 2007 newsletter.
Every row is the same. After a couple rows, this flows as easily as an all garter stitch scarf. It would be a really pretty lacy scarf for spring.
You will need one skein of yarn of your choice and straight needles one size larger than appropriate for your yarn. I used a worsted weight yarn (One of the NoBo yarns WalMart had last summer) with a size 11 needle.
Cast on an even number of stitches (12, 14, 16, 18, or 20) depending on how wide you want your scarf to be.
Pattern Row: *YO from front to back, P2tog. Repeat from * across. Repeat until yarn is gone or scarf is desired length.
Here's a closeup of the stitch pattern. I'm sure if you made it wider it would be a beautiful rectangular shawl.
