Weiner Dog Willie

I made the Willie sweater for my 2 year old - this Thursday - grandson’s birthday. I made the size two. I knit it according to the directions and the body length and sleeve length were too long in proportion to the body width. I ripped out the yoke and adjusted the sleeve length and the body length to match a storebought sweater of his. I reknit the yoke and tried it on him today and it fits him perfectly. Instead of the 9.5 inches for the sleeve length and the body length I had to rip back down to 8” for both sleeves and body.

His aunt and uncle have a weiner dog they rescued from the pound. This week besides his birthday gifts, he has been given the gift of vision. We just found out he cannot see near or far - has severe farsightedness. He just got his glasses and is seeing the doggies and the rest of the world for the first time.

Mari, it's hard to decide which is cuter, the darling little boy or the sweater! What a sweet child, and what a cute sweater! I envy your intarsia--mine always comes out holey and yukky. Yours looks fabulous!
